Katlyn Carlson is an actor and writer in New York City. A midwestern gal with the mouth of a sailor, this smarty-pants earned her B.A. in English at the University of Chicago. She cut her teeth on the Chicago storefront theatre circuit, doing everything from pitch-black comedies, to Shakespeare, to musicals. As an improviser, Katlyn trained at The PIT, and went on to become a member of house teams in both sketch and musical improv. An actor of pedigree, her live stage work also includes the recent Off-Broadway production of "The Unavoidable Disappearance of Tom Durnin" at Roundabout Theatre Company, directed by Scott Ellis, and the Equity national tour of "Dirty Dancing," directed by James Powell. She recently co-starred in the world premiere musical “Be More Chill” by Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz at Two Rivers Theater.
Katlyn's TV and film work includes being featured on Netflix’s “Master of None,” TV Land’s “The Jim Gaffigan Show,” jest.com, Morgan Spurlock's "Mansome," national commercials, and starring in the independent feature comedy "My Name Is Jerry.” This winter, she shot the lead role independent film “Holly Star,” and in 2017, she will appear in Zach Braff’s film “Going in Style” opposite Michael Caine. She can also be seen in the most recent season of "World's Dumbest" for TruTV, as well as the network's new series "Almost Genius" and the comedy sketch-style show "The Chuckler." Her quick wit and sharp tongue are put to use as host of Glamour magazine's web series, "Why Do Guys?" She's also written and performed in comedic short films featured at the Friar's Club Film Festival and the LA Comedy Festival.
